I'd move AA to Buffalo for 1 year of E. Kane.

Hammer brought a lot of character to this team, going to be hard to replace that.

This feels like Bowman flexing his muscle over Q.
Yeah, the GM should always have the final say but I for one got the feeling that last year (and to a lesser extent the year before) Q was calling a lot of the tunes and Bowman was just making sure that the checks didn't bounce.

This is really his neck on the block now....should be interesting.

In addition to more possible trades, still have the draft and free agency to go.

Could move AA and sign an older, experienced 2C who's available.

Have you heard anything about Duchene? Eklund said that the Hawks might be after him. I could see Anisimov+ for him

Why do you want Kane (Evander) with the extra baggage he brings???

Wasn' there a Panarin for Saad rumor last season?

With that being said, I hate to lose Hammer, but like the moves and the direction the team is heading.

If Arizona was smart they would deal Hammer at he deadline for a ransom.

poop is crazy John. It is sad to see Hjalmarsson go, it really is. Really think we see another left field movement coming in tonight.

Thanks for the info JJ.

Here is the backstory. Once upon a time a GM gave an absurd contract to a guy named Seabrook and now he is an untradeable albatross forcing the team to make lots of moves in order to field a team.

The end

I've been banging the drum for the last year about the merits of Saad on this team over Panarin. Frequently shouted down and told to "quit crying....get over it...."

Well, I guess Stan and I put our heads together and got the MAN CHILD back. To steal JJ's term, the Hawks got an ATV for all phases of the game. Not the finisher that Panarin is (maybe never will be) but will make teams think hard about effing with Toews.

He's got baggage for sure but lots of size and talent as well.
I'm hoping the change of scenery and the leadership in Chicago will help to keep his nose clean
